Raaz 3 movie trailer was launched before the movie release. Raaz 3 starring Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta released on 7 September 2012. The movie was released in both single and doubled screen (two screens of a single chain-cinema) states. The movie was released in the theatres with the 3D version a week before the single screen version. The movie was one of the biggest 3D releases in India.
The film released in stereoscopic 3D, Imax 3D, and 3D worldwide. It was also the first Indian 3D horror film to be released (the first was Raaz). The movie released on over 2,000 screens in India, including in its 3D format at a cost of Rs. 10,000+ for 3D tickets.[4] The movie received an Adult Certificate without any cuts from the censor board of India.[5]
The film received positive reviews from both critics and audience as it was the second highest grossing film of 2012. It was declared as the Highest-Grossing Bollywood Title in 3D.[9] Raaz 3 received the 2017 PETA Asia Pacific's People's Choice Best Emerging Film Award in 3D category.[10] In October 2017, the film was selected to be remade in Tamil under the name Disco 3D.
