Because Midnight In Paris, is composed of many scenes from Paris, Mr. Magorium and the Bouvreuil, the 2009 Oscar winner for Best Animated Feature can be replayed repeatedly in a positive way for its central characters. The film also beautifully captures the complex relationship between old world and new. Midnight in Paris is very much about the life of Mr. Magorium. So let's meet him. Mr. Magorium, as he is known to the other characters, is a little old man, who lives in an oversized shoe box with his dog, Bouvier. He collects shiny objects. And he loves shiny things. He travels the world to find them. He enters reality television contests where he competes against celebrities for a shot at the top prize. Mr. Magorium interprets reality as he would, and his competition is a race against the time of day. In addition to being his last name - Magorium - Mr. Magorium shares his name with a character in the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty. He is the magical king who makes the clockwork prince wake up, precisely at midnight. Mr. Magorium also takes time to deliver inspirational messages, like the time he showed Cinderella the one she was least likely to think about, the pantone color wheel. Mr. Magorium is portrayed with a comedic energy by Owen Wilson and in a melancholic and pedantic manner by Owen's real life father Warren Shirley. Both have superb performances. Mr. Magorium is determined to make money for himself while living back in his shoe box. He catches and displays all the diamonds and precious stones that have entered the world of Bouvreuil and relates them to his performances on Wolf's Lair, a reality show where people compete to be the best at something. Mr. Magorium is obsessed with happiness! Mr. Magorium's numbers speak for themselves. He loves the numbers. He says that he is counting up until the time comes to close the curtains - when the sun is gone and the mice with their foggy little noses come out to play. Mr. Magorium's first encounter with Sam, is in a closed and dark world - a world in which a little old man lives. Their only interaction is the setting sun. Mr. Magorium is shocked by Sam's admiration for him and order him out of the shoe box and down the ladder. But he remembers each night's details and composes his next performance. d2c66b5586
