In 2013, Kanji brought us a new EP called 'Sinetic'. This involved a collaboration with his idol John Digweed, which took the form of a short 3 track EP which ended up on John's label 'Sandwell District' which his achieved massive success in the bass community. This release cemented John's inclusion of the release on his radio show where it was played and talked about by the likes of Mark Radcliffe, Pete Tong, Charlie Engle, Liam Martin and more.
Kanji has been busy as hell over the last year and a half, even to the point of releasing a remix of 709's 'Quicken' which took the bass scene by storm through its relentless use of pitch bending and saw him remix the likes of Pulled Apart By Horses, Amon Tobin, The Golden Ratio, Lee Malia, Fuse ODG, Scratcha DVA, Pinch and more. In October 2012 he was invited to remix the legendary house legend's 'Music Is The Answer' for which he was joined by the likes of Kanye West, RedOne, and the legendary Dixon.
Kanji's style can be best described as a fusion of UK dubstep and techno. This is a good thing because it makes his style a lot more identifiable. The way he blends elements together is done in a way that retains the original sound and makes it a lot more identifiable. This is also another reason why he's one of the most recognized and popular names in the dubstep scene with a lot of people recognising his name from tracks like 'Chainsaw Calligraphy'. With the likes of Acid Jacks, Kid606, The Kominas, Ryoko Sekiguchi, Feargal Sharkey and more, he's as close to a household name as it gets in the dubstep scene.
Now the music is getting pumped out on his own label, Kanji Kinetic . The first release for the label was a remix of 16Bit's 'Chainsaw Calligraphy' for Immersion Records. This track went down really well with the chiptune crowd and saw Kanji receive an official release from the label. This one has been the main club release from his catalogue so far but there are other remixes on the way, including one for the new this is music compo. He has also put out a few more on the TipGun Records compo too. They also put out another track with him called 'Collapse' on their Testpress Records compo comp last year. That track has had a lot of support online and is getting played out a lot in the dubstep and dubstep-based scenes.
