You're going to be told that you cannot qualify for a letter grade. You can try to memorize answers, but it's like trying to read a musical score by only hearing the notes. If you want to get a good sense of how the questions are graded, the best thing to do is to navigate directly to one of the practice exams. New: the latest practice test is downloadable from the ETS site and organized by topic. Make sure you look at the different levels of physics (listed on the left) and the topics you're not at all familiar with (e.g. optical spectroscopy). You can sort by level and topic, so you can pick the section that is easiest for you. You can also look through the various combinations of the levels and topics by clicking on the topic names or by clicking "All Topics by Category."
(...) probably the best resource of all to learn how the test is graded. The first pitch is that sentences which contain a bungled derivation are worth 2 points. "The position of a particle is specified by three numbers, which can be written in the form (...)" (which can be matched by (...)). Posts which are just a declaration of the definition of a variable are worth 5 points. "The aim is to minimize the sum of the potential energy of the system (...)."
