Well, I don't know if you still having troubles with the bootcamp drivers installation but I have found the solution in this post: -camp-x64-is-unsupported-on-this-computer-model / I hope that it is still useful for you or for anyone who wants install Windows 7 64 on mac by using bootcamp!!
I managed to install Windows 8.1 Pro on my early 2009 24 inch iMac yesterday. Just a disclaimer: I DID NOT USE BOOT CAMP ASSISTANT TO INSTALL. For 2 days straight I troubleshooted boot camp assistant to try to get it to take my Windows 8.1 Pro to no avail. Out of frustration I googled 'how to run windows on a mac WITHOUT boot camp.' After finding a guide online, in a matter of about 30 minutes I had successfully installed Windows 8.1 Pro on my 2009 iMac. Here is the link to the guide....you can ask me any questions regarding this. See \"How To Install Windows 8.1 On Mac Without Boot Camp\".
I used bootcamp. But still did research to make sure i installed it well. It was successful. I'm now running windows7 64 bit on a 2010 iMac core duo 3ghz with 4gb ram. Bootcamp will really be tricky. You have to have experience in hard drive partitioning. And yah do research. Like I found out that once bootcamp is setup you have to press the OPTION/alt key when your iMac restarts so you could get into the DRIVE CHOICE MENU where you will see your windows drive. What bootcamp does is do the preliminary tasks indicated in the link shared by David above.
Hey there, I have a 27 inch late 2013 imac as well. When I go to install windows with bootcamp, bootcamp finishes and restarts. I get the windows 8 setup page as usual, and do that whole process (language, TOS, etc)
After that, the computer restarts and shows the windows 8 logo. The problem: it hangs there indefinitely. Is there a problem with the support drivers or something When I force restart and press Alt, i have a windows partition and an ef_boot partition: Both of these hang on the windows logo as well.
first of all, i have 2 win7 64 bit.iso when i choose any one to create windows install disk on my usb flash drive, the boot camp assistant always show {boot camp only support 64-bit !!!!!!!!!!} and am sure the win iso files are 64 bit.
As for the boot camp version its just a set of drivers which can be installed at any stage. However you would need the Windows 7 version to install With Windows 7.Have a look at this video might help. -to-remove-a-bootcamp-partition-and-install-windows-support-software-from-apple/CheersMatt
Hi amigoteIn Windows check the device manager and see if you have a yellow !Try right clicking the device and click update. You might be lucky. Otherwise try researching the audio driver for your model and check with the manufacturer. Or try this link. -camp-drivers/imac/Some of the downloads might have the driver you are after.Good luck, let me know how you get on.CheersMatt
I have a 27 inch late 2013 imac 10.10.3 Yosemite. I am trying to create a windows partition but everytime the windows installation begins I get an error to say the drivers could not be found Please help
Greetings. I am in the process of trying to get windows 7 onto my MacBPro, running 10.9.4. I have purchased Windows 7, downloaded it & have an .iso file.I followed the instructions in bootcamp(gotten all proper windows updates) and utilized your bit of code to get bootcamp to create a bootable disc from the iso file and put it on a USB, which it does successfully. When I proceed to partition my drive through bootcamp, it stops me & says there is no bootable disc detected, pls install disc.Through my research I have also installed rEFIt and using disk utility partitioned my drive and bypass bootcamp. When I start my mac, I get the rEFIt option to install windows from my USB, but in doing so it cannot find the BOOTMGR file.Any assistance would be greatly appreciatedIra
I have Installed WIndows 8.1 using your method..But when i install Bootcamp Drivers..It installs them for a while and then screen goes black (when it is installing graphic drivers) and nothing happens eventually i have to restart my mac and then after the windows logo again that black screen appears..!Any Suggestions
Hi. I already downloaded windows 8.1 (64-bit). And was in the process of making a bootable usb with the boot camp assistant but it prompts me with this message: Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform. Please use a ISO file for 64-bit Windows installation. I have a Macbook Air 10.9.2-early 2014. Please help. thanks
Hi Eric,Yes it is free and you should be able to get all the boot camp drivers here.Boot camp driversAlso the last part of this video should give you some idea how to install them. How to remove a bootcamp partition and install Windows support software from Apple.CheersMatt
Got it to work, but one problem! On my PC when I went to this website and clicked create media installation, I chose ISO file and saved that ISO to my flashdrive, which I then plugged into my iMac so I could use that ISO in Bootcamp. Everything installed except the bootcamp drivers never came up during the installation so I cant connect to the internet while in windows 8.1. Was I not supposed to create an ISO file
Hi, i want to askMy Mac is 21.5 inch Mid 2010 and the Bootcamp drivers in your site is Windows 7, but i want to install Windows 8.1. Is it possible to install Windows 8.1 if my drivers is Windows 7 thx
HI Bladimir HernandezBasically no. You need to make sure you select the correct size when you create the Windows partition first up. There is some 3rd party tools that may do this. However this is not something that I will help people with.If you want to resize the partition properly I suggest removing the boot camp partition and reinstalling the Windows all over again. How to Remove Boot Camp PartitionMake sure you do a back up of your Windows data before you try this.CheersMatt
I have a couple of questions. If I back up my data with an external hard drive, can I use only one external hard drive for both Yosemite and Windows 8And if I decide to remove the boot camp partition and reinstall it, will I be allowed to use the same product key for windows 8 as I did the first time
Hey, I have a mid 2015 MacBook Pro and I have Windows 8.1 downloaded onto it through bootcamp assist. I tried downloading the driver BootCamp5.1.5640 and it says that this driver doesnt work for this computer model. I was able to go in and manually add some and some worked (like the volume, bluetooth, etc), but the wifi DOES NOT work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Yohan,See my reply to Davey.Hi Davey For the time being see if you can use a USB mouse and keyboard. The thing to check would be the device manager and see what drivers are missing. Then use the boot camp downloads to see if the devices will disappear. Try using an older version than 5.1.5640. Cheers Matt

Hi i have an early 2015 macbook pro. i am trying to install windows 10 iso via boot camp. i launch the boot camp amp, and can not get past the copying windows files screen. when it fails i get the message your bootable usb drive could not be created an error occurred while copying the windows installation files.
Thank you for the Bootcamp Assistant! I bought an Apple iMac from 2010 but Apple only gives the bootcamp assistant for Windows 7 and not for Windows 10.The W7 Bootcamp drivers do not work with W10.
Officially, the earliest Macintosh models that support Windows 8 are the mid-2011 MacBook Air, 13-inch-mid-2011 or 15 and 17-inch-mid-2010 MacBook Pro, mid-2011 Mac Mini, 21-inch-mid-2011 or 27-inch-mid-2010 iMac, and early 2009 Mac Pro.[7][8] By running the Boot Camp assistant with a compatible version of Microsoft Windows setup disc in the drive and switching to a Windows 8 disc when Mac OS X reboots the machine to begin installing Windows, Windows 8 can be installed on older unsupported hardware. This can also work with Windows 10.
Is it possible to install Win10 on an early 2009 ( P7350 2.26ghz , 4Gb, 120 SSD, Nvidia9400m) I created an usb stick with win10 image and it shows in the boot menu but once i click on the usb it gets stuck!Any help

Hi.. My macbook have been installed with windows os without bootcamp.. Now my macbook load only windows on startup.. But, i got problems.. Backlight keyboard not lighting, function button unusable and the touchpad cannot be clicked by twice finger taps.. How it can be solved Mb air 2014,256gb,4gb ram
If you are installing windows 10 on apple computer then I recommend you to go with boot camp why because you can fix all the drivers easily otherwise you need to do google to find out how to fix that particular driver. -windows-10-mac-using-boot-camp-assistant/
I confirm that is EFI boot when press Alt at boot. I think with my macbook, the default windows installer does not have enough drivers for it. When I use bootcamp, I see that it makes a new partition with win 10 iso file content and some additional driver & unattended config. And I think use an old macbook that bootcamp force to create usb installer for win 10 and use that USB 153554b96e
